Boscombe's regeneration 'makes it a good place to invest'

Landlords looking to add to their portfolios of property should consider investing in Boscombe, an industry expert has said.

Recently, it was revealed that Boscombe was to receive around £8 million to regenerate its seafront and pier. One of the projects in the pipeline is the building of the UK's artificial surf reef.

This development means that landlords could find rental property in the area becomes more profitable, as young people head to the region, Debra Hickman, a spokesperson from Bournecoast explained.

Recent figures from Land Registry showed that property in the Boscombe area was still reasonable when compared to the rest of Devon, meaning that landlords could still add to their portfolios comparatively cheaply.

Ms Hickman added: "Boscombe is the main place that people are looking to invest.

"They are spending £8 million on the regeneration, obviously that is going to attract a lot of new people to the area.

"The surf reef restoration and redevelopment includes tuition facilities, restaurants, an open-air roof terrace, changing rooms and 42 super chalets."

Recent reports suggested that rising house prices meant that graduates had little choice but to rent property for longer as they attempted to save for their own home.ADNFCR-1064-ID-18253553-ADNFCR
