Trinity Mirror takes over fish4homes

Giant newspaper group Trinity Mirror has announced that it has taken full control of – the portal that covers property, jobs, cars, holidays, and personal ads. was first established in 1999 by Trinity Mirror along with other local newspaper groups Newsquest Media Group, Northcliffe, Regional Independent Media, Bristol United Press and GMG Regional Media.

As the fortunes of local newspapers suffered, Trinity Mirror then moved to hold a 50% joint venture interest in the portal alongside Newsquest.

A Trinity Mirror spokesperson said the fee paid to Newsquest for their  stake was “nominal".

Fish4 was at one time one of the most prominent of the property portals and seen by local newspapers as a plank in their strategy to keep estate agents advertising in their print products.
