South-west England could represent a good investment opportunity for buy-to-let landlords, as the region is experiencing a rise in popularity.

According to Start & Co, an independent firm of estate agents based in Newquay, an increasing number of people are being attracted to the south-west for a number of reasons.

Bradley Start, a partner at the firm, maintained that region's popularity growth had been fuelled by quicker and more affordable transport links.

He explained: "It appears that more and more people aspire to live, work and holiday and the south-west, particularly as it has never been easier, cheaper of quicker to get here."

Mr Start went on to say that rises property prices in high-profile towns such as Padstow and St Ives meant that attention had turned to more affordable towns.

He asserted that, while most of the development in Newquay was centeredaround the Pentire peninsula and Fistral Beach, the Porth area was also popular.

He added: "Outside of the town, popular hot spots include Crantock, Cubert, Holywell Bay, Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay."
