Renting very strong, expert says

The lettings industry is in a strong position despite the impact of the economic crisis on the housing market, according to a property expert.
David Amstell, founder of online property website Briffy.com, has advised homeowners wanting to sell-up that they must market their property at the right price.
In what could be of interest to letting agents, he said that renting is "very strong" at the moment, but people looking to sell their properties can do so if they offer the correct price.
Mr Amstell added: "One of the most important things at the moment is to keep the price right. Prices are very low at the moment; they're not strong, as everybody knows.
House prices are falling by 15 per cent and it is an excellent time to invest in property for letting purposes, Spicerhaart Financial Services operations director Steve Cox said this week.
A mortgage market surveyby the group published earlier this week found that 58 per cent more borrowers opted for buy-to-let mortgages in September.
