Property management in the UK is following a greener path, according to new research.
Consumer website uSwitch has claimed that 78 per cent of households are more energy efficient than they were a year ago, which will include properties owned by investment landlords.
It would seem that those who own bricks and mortar are thinking about the environment when it comes to property management processes.
However, nearly half of those polled in a recent survey suggested that going green is costing them money.
Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at uSwitch, said: "The government will ... be concerned [because] the cost of going green could stop consumers getting behind its drive to make Britain's households more energy efficient and reduce carbon emissions."
In addition to the pressure landlords feel to be more environmentally friendly, they had to deal with the implementation of new gas legislation last month.
From April 1st, the Gas Safe Register took over from Corgi as the new standard for gas safety in UK property.
