Private lets service is NOT on Rightmove, says portal

News Category: Industry News

The claims of a new private rental website, letpropertyrentproperty.co.uk, that it lists on Rightmove have been dismissed by the portal.

The site cuts out agents by charging landlords £19.99 for a three-month listing, and claims it will distribute these via Rightmove, Zoopla, Fish4, Globrix and Google Maps.

The site says: “Savings made by advertising on the internet are passed on to landlords and tenants, ensuring they pay a fraction of the traditional costs of letting or renting property.”

But a spokesman for Rightmove said: “Letpropertyrentproperty are not current members of Rightmove and have not been in the past.

“To advertise on Rightmove they will need to go through a formal vetting process to ensure they meet our criteria as a lettings agent.

“Rightmove does not allow private vendors or private vendor websites to advertise on our site. All sales and lettings agents that advertise with us must ensure compliance with relevant consumer protection legislation including the Estate Agents and Property Misdescriptions Acts, and Ombudsman membership, in order to protect the users of our site.

“We note that this website claims that they do currently advertise on Rightmove. This is incorrect and we will be following up with them in this regard.”
