Some 70 exhibitors gave expert advice to potential landlords at the Birmingham National Exhibition Centre earlier this month.
As well as hosting the Classic Motor Show on November 13th and 14th, the centre also provided an information portal for would-be landlords, who might be considering letting agent software.
The attendees were offered advice on energy-saving tips, how to please tenants and how to evict non-paying occupants in 40 seminars on issues of interest to those entering the private-rented sector.
Among the exhibitors at the event were the Residential Landlords Association, Landlord Action and UK Investment Properties.
It comes as a large number of Britons who have failed to sell their homes during the economic downturn have turned to renting and become 'accidental landlords'.
Bodies including the National Landlords Association and the Association of Residential Lettings Agents have recently urged those new to the rental sector to make sure they are equipped with up-to-date legal knowledge.
