Online letting 'gathers pace'

More property is being advertised on the web because it is a proven method of gaining results, an expert has suggested.
Michael Nutley, editor-in-chief of interactive media business firm New Media Age, suggested that Britons are living more of their lives through the web and online property advertising is beginning to cash-in on this.
He said: "When you look at the property sector its struggling and they're moving their money to online marketing because that's going to get them results."
A study earlier this year found that property was one of the top five sectors for spending on online marketing, Mr Nutley commented.
In June, the Advertising Association's Advertising Statistics Yearbook 2008 revealed a 39 per cent increase in spending on online advertising compared to the same month last year.
Although gathering speed, the internet was the third largest advertising medium in the study, ranked behind TV and the press, which was the largest sector accounting for 40 per cent of advertising expenditure.
