The National Landlords Association (NLA) has commented on its "relief" at the High Court's decision to dismiss the case brought against the proposed merger between the NLA and the National Federation of Residential Landlords (NFRL).
Former members of the NFRL had stood in opposition to the July 2008 merger, which saw the NLA and NFRL join forces to create the UK's largest landlord association.
Judge Pelling ruled against the 11 plaintiffs and ordered them to pay legal costs to the NLA.
The NLA expressed its hope that the ruling would now allow the body to better assist and represent those landlords that were formerly members of the NFRL and create a "unified voice" for landlords.
David Salusbury, chairman of the NLA, said: "It is now time to focus all of our energies on the serious matters facing all landlords, not least government proposals to introduce a national register of landlords."
Last week, the NLA announced Worcestershire landlord Sussanne Chambers had been appointed to the body's board of directors.
