'Most landlords' ensure rent is paid on time

The "vast majority" of landlords in the UK do everything they can to ensure they collect rent from tenants on time, according to the National Landlords Association (NLA) chairman David Salusbury.
Rent software can help with the process of collecting funds from tenants, but the NLA boss believes it is vital money is collected on time, especially in the current economic climate.
This warning comes after his organisation found that 44 per cent of landlords have experienced rental arrears in the last six months, which is one reason that there has been an increase in repossessions.
"Landlords and tenants need to communicate and work together to tackle financial problems before they result in a loss of rent and a potential default on mortgage repayments," said Mr Salusbury.
Recent reports suggest that the UK is seeing more and more landlords join the market, with many of them opting to rent out properties because they are unable to sell them for a suitable price.
