Lettings agents in Manchester should not see huge changes in the price of property following the city's rejection of the congestion charge, it has been suggested.
Manchester city centre had proposed the introduction of the charge to help fund a wide range of public transport improvements to help reduce congestion in the city over the coming years.
Property prices won't be the first significant consequence of the decision to reject the congestion charge's introduction, according to Vicky McCarrick, manager of Dandara Lettings.
Rent software users could see people looking for properties outside of the city centre if congestion becomes a significant problem in the future.
However, Ms McCarrick concluded that the 'no' vote over the congestion charge will not have a "huge amount of impact" on property values in Manchester.
"I don't think the congestion charge is going to be the thing that has an impact on prices," she said.
Her comments come after an Arla spokesman last week advised letting agents to focus on rental activity in their local markets during 2009 because demand and supply will fluctuate across different areas of the country.
