An estate agent in north London have been fined £400 after claiming to be members of the NAEA.
Propertynet (UK), in Crouch End, was also ordered to pay £500 in costs at Haringey Magistrates Court.
A statement on its website said: “To ensure quality of service we are a member of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA).” In fact, its membership had been cancelled after they failed to pay their subscription.
A number of complaints were reportedly received about the quality of their service, prompting an investigation by Haringey Council Trading Standards.
