Letting agents have been encouraged to consider entering the Estate & Letting Agent Awards 2010.
The awards, which were first held in 2003, are voted for by tenants and clients, based on the level of service they have received during property transactions.
Letting agents will be able to monitor their progress in the voting via the award's website.
Simon Brown, managing director of Awards for Business, which is running the vent, said that winning an award could give letting agents an important advantage over their competitors.
Speaking to The Move Channel, he said: "In the sort of competitive market we are in and likely to experience next year, clients are being more selective than ever when appointing an agent."
Mr Brown added that agents who can demonstrate their focus on high quality customer service would be in a better position to attract customers.
The award ceremony will take place in April 2010 at the Marriott Hotel in London.
