The rental market in Leeds is growing, according to a group of letting agents.
Research compiled by the University of Leeds and letting agents in the city including Knight Frank, Morgans City Living, King Sturge, Savills and Allsop found the Leeds market is seeing a revival.
According to the findings, the rental market in Leeds remained strong through the recession, with rents remaining at a similar level to 2007.
Andrew Hunt, a partner at letting agent Allsop, commented: "Without doubt, the threat of over-supply in Leeds city centre has averted. Capital values are at a realistic level."
Matthew Jones, a director at letting agent Savills, explained that the popularity of Leeds as a destination city had helped the rental market in the city remain stable during the economic downturn.
"Renewed consumer confidence and developer investment are key to its future success," he commented.
This comes after 2010 was predicted to be the year of the letting agent by Jon Brown, partner relationship manager at online change of address service iammoving.com.
