A letting agent has stated that it will consider changing the rents it charges tenants when the 2012 Olympic Games begins.
Dream Cottages of Weymouth stated that it would look at supply and demand before making a decision on rents while the Olympics are in the town, reports the Dorset Echo.
The sailing events of the 2012 Olympics are set to be held at Portland Harbour, which is expected to lead to increased demand for rental properties in the area.
However, the letting agent said it was not ready to confirm whether rents would go up in the affected period.
Holiday lettings company Blue Chip Vacations said there will be "great demand" for homes ahead of the Games.
Ewan Davy of the specialist letting agent said: "The Olympic impact will be such that the rent someone could potentially charge would be three times what they would normally get."
Blue Chip Vacations was founded in 2000 and currently has around 600 Devon and Cornwall properties on its books.
