A letting agent in Ireland has helped to jail a man who was producing cocaine in a rented house.

Gardai were alerted to a house in Meadowbrook, Willow Park after a letting agent noticed suspicious activity taking place on the premises.

Mixing agents, liquidisers, masking tape and industrial presses were found at the house, while a rear window had already been removed, reports the Irish Times.

Although Sean Callinan rented the property from a letting agent under a false name, his fingerprints were found more than 20 times inside the property.

Around €17,010 (£14,680) worth of cocaine was found in the house and Callinan was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to having drugs for sale or supply.

Letting agents and landlords have been warned by Hampshire Constabulary to be aware of potential tenants who want to pay many months of rent in advance, because they may be planning to use the property to produce drugs.
