A London letting agent has been hit with a fine of £10,000 for failing to comply with enforcement notices.
Louis Lettings & Property Management was also ordered to pay costs of £455.35 after pleading guilty to disregarding a notice relating to an unauthorised dormer window and gable end roof at a property in Enfield.
The company had secured legal clearance to carry out an extension but had not done so in keeping with the approved conditions, residentiallandlord.com reports.
An enforcement notice issued by the council was appealed by the company, which had asked for more time to give notice to their tenants before carrying out the works.
This request was granted by the council but no work had been completed when the compliance period came to a close.
Magistrates said that had the company not pleaded guilty to the offence it was likely to face a fine of £15,000.
