UK buy-to-let landlords should seek expert advice when selecting an investment, it has been claimed.
That is according to specialist lender Money Centre, which has recently conducted research into the buy-to-let sector.
It was discovered that when securing a property, only half (53 per cent) of UK landlords obtain guidance by using an adviser, intermediary or broker.
Money Centre maintained that seeking help can save landlords money and direct them to the best deals on property.
Of those landlords that did use specialist advice when purchasing property, 38 per cent indicated that they had been directed to new deals.
A further 32 per cent stated that advisors consistently helped them to secure the best value of mortgages.
Lynsey Sweales, marketing and PR director of the Money Centre, commented: "Decisions over your finances shouldn't be taken lightly, so we always recommend potential and existing landlords take their time to research and plan their approach to property investment."
