Landlords have been issued with a reminder about the changes to gas regulation in properties.
Letting agent software can help landlords stay legally compliant, but they must also be aware that the new Gas Safety Register replaces the Corgi gas scheme from April 1st.
The change in legislation is nationwide, but Rochdale borough council is playing its part in educating landlords at a local level.
Issues to do with the Gas Safe Register will come into focus at the council-led Landlord Forum on March 26th, which takes place at Rochdale Football Club.
Councillor Doreen Brophy-Lee, cabinet member for housing at the local authority, told Rochdale Online: "We're proud of the high-profile events we hold for landlords in the borough."
She added that these occasions show how the council "attempts to work with the private sector landlords to ensure the health and safety of local tenants is upheld at all times".
The new Gas Safe Register scheme aims to raise public awareness of gas safety and the gas register, manage inspection and enforcement, and provide technical support to engineers.
