A forum is to be launched in Mid Devon with the aim of helping landlords and the local council work together more effectively.
The first meeting is to be held next month in Tiverton in an initiative supported by the National Landlords Association (NLA), reports the Mid Devon Star.
Cllr Ray Stanley, the portfolio holder for housing at Mid Devon Council, said: "The landlord's forum is just one tool
designed to assist landlords and to further their knowledge and understanding of the wider issues and challenges facing the private-rented sector."
The forum will contain short presentations as well as an open surgery and the opportunity for networking with council departments and other relevant agencies.
Earlier this month, Arla warned letting agents and landlords that the next 12 months may be challenging for those working in the private-rented sector.
It based this on the fact that many tenants are struggling to meet their rental payments due to the tough economic conditions facing the UK at the moment.
