Landlords and letting agents have been reminded by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) of the "key role" they can play in helping to identify cannabis farms in rented property.
Officers have called on those in charge of residential property management to help to identify the telltale signs of illegal activity and notify the constabulary accordingly.
Among the indicators to watch for are pungent aromas, blacked-out windows and people leaving and entering the property at strange times.
The reminder comes after GMP conducted a successful raid on a property in Oldham, seizing £150,000 worth of cannabis plants.
Sergeant Cherie Dunn, from the Oldham East neighbourhood policing team, said: "Drugs can have a devastating effect on our communities and it is very pleasing to have stopped these drugs from hitting our streets."
Landlords were also reminded that cannabis farms can often cause thousands of pounds in damages to rented properties which will not be covered by insurance.
Earlier this month, the National Landlords Association echoed the call for landlord action on cannabis farming, reminding letters to take responsibility over what is going on in their property.
