Landlords have been approached over the last few months, as the implementation date for the new Gas Safe Register scheme has moved ever closer.
Now, with just one day until the new legislation comes into play, it is hoped that landlords will take on board the information as part of their safe property management practices.
Peter Eldridge, chief executive of the Gas Safe Register, said it has been "a delicate balancing act" to ensure the switchover from the Corgi gas scheme has been a smooth one.
Corgi became the Council for Registered Gas Installers in 1991, but will be replaced by the new regime as of tomorrow.
"We have been doing a lot of groundwork over the past few months talking to local authorities, housing associations and landlords to help them tell their tenants the change is coming," he explained.
Local authorities themselves, including Rochdale borough council, have held individual events to inform regional landlords about the changes.
