A landlord that used sheds on the grounds of one of his residential lettings to convert guns has been jailed for life.

Grant Wilson, aged 34, converted replica machine guns in two sheds at the bottom of one of his tenant's gardens, some of which were known to have been used in nine murders.

The guns had been purchased legally by Mr Wilkinson for a sum of £55,000, which were later converted to fire live rounds.

Mr Wilkinson had originally claimed the guns were to be used as props in the James Bond film, Casino Royale.

The guns were discovered completely by accident by a tenant living in the residential lettings owned by Mr Wilkinson, who received his sentence at Reading Crown Court.

One of the sheds used as part of the scheme had been fitted with sound-proofing material so that the weapons could be tested after they had been converted.
