The huge number of employment opportunities in Berkshire is helping to push up demand for rental accommodation in Reading, according to a local letting agent.
Drummonds Lettings, which is based in the town's upscale Caversham area, claims that because there are so many commercial organisations in Berkshire" the demand for corporate lets for employees new to the area is "almost constant".
This coupled with the high house prices in the county and demand from local people is making letting property in the town increasingly attractive, the firm claims.
"While few properties are selling at the moment, the rental market is really thriving in Berkshire, with the number one location for property letting Reading, and also high demand for property letting in Caversham."
Caversham is located just ten minutes from Reading town centre and is home to Queen Anne's public school as well as the historic Caversham Bridge which was the location for the a battle during the English Civil War.
