iPhone takes over as Hamptons throw out old boards

News Category: Industry News

Hamptons are jettisoning all their sales and lettings boards to replace them with new ones that show the firm’s iPhone app in a prominent position, rather than just offering a phone number or website address.

The move means that people passing by properties will be able to use the app to immediately access property details.

The Hamptons’ iPhone app has been downloaded over 10,000 times since its launch in February, proving a valuable marketing tool.

The rebrand takes place following a survey last month of 2,255 people by YouGov, undertaken on behalf of Hamptons, which asked people how they look for property.

This found that 61% use property portals, with most (59%) looking on agents’ own sites.

Visiting local branches was important for 49%, but 33% still said they look for sales and lettings boards.

Hamptons’ old sales and lettings boards will be recycled at a plant in Newbury, Berkshire, where they will be processed and made into milk crates and plant pots.
