Impressive lighting can boost the value of residential lettings, according to a home lighting expert.
Installing stylish lighting systems can help to make a property more attractive to both potential tenants and buyers, while drab lighting can diminish a house or flats' value, claimed Ajay Vasdev, director of Asco Lights.
Lighting is particularly important for any landlord trying to create a positive first impression of a property, he explained, with hi-tech systems such as LEDs proving both popular and cost-effective.
"People use impressive lighting to sell apartments
they [lights] can help people to either rent or sell [their property]," Mr Vasdev said.
"If you enter a property and the lights look very good it suddenly adds to the overall appearance of that property. If they are very drab it down-values it," he added.
The Nationwide recently revealed that high quality bedrooms and bathrooms can add up to five per cent to the value of a property.
