Estate agents who turned on the TV were astonished to see Prince Harry wearing one of their football shirts.

The prince, along with brother William, was playing football with some children in Africa, wearing the authentic Cooke & Co strip, complete with logo.

The firm in Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear – a member of the Home Sale Network – had donated the shirts to a local charity organiser following an appeal.

Negotiator Gavin Lish said: “We were taken by surprise when watching the news and saw that the tops that Prince Harry and his team were wearing were Cooke & Co shirts with our logos on the front. The football match has been worldwide news.

“We think it’s great that a company from Whitley Bay can donate a few tops to charity and see them getting put to good use helping raise awareness of the plight of orphans in Africa.

“We do our best for charity, especially Help for Heroes, and don’t expect anything in return. But you can’t pay for the publicity that we have received due to our tops. Our phones and emails have not stopped from people who saw the news.”
