Lettings agents in the Henley area are enjoying a boom as more and more homeowners look out rent out properties amid continued dwindling demand for house purchases, it has been reported.
Savills' Home Counties branches as well as Robinson Sherston have both reported a growth in lettings business in the Berkshire town, which is famed for its annual Regatta and village ambience.
Tanya Blake, head of Savills Home Counties Lettings, told the Henley Standard: "There has been increased activity from both applicants and landlords in the lettings market this year.
"With competition amongst properties high, landlords would be well advised to listen to the recommendations of their agent, in order to secure a quick rental and elude void periods."
Ms Blake's sentiments were echoed by Giles Robinson, at Robinson Sherston, who noted that rents are "holding firm" and said that the company had seen "a trend for vendors becoming landlords in the current market".
