The lettings sector in Glasgow is set to record significant growth in the coming months, a local estate agency has predicted.
Clyde Property has forecast that the slowing demand for property in the city is poised to fuel a huge upswing in the number of homes available for rent.
Bill Cullens, chairman and founder of the company, told the Scotsman: "Last year we had 1,500 let and managed properties, today we are sitting on over 1,800."
He added: "We are looking to expand our lettings business either through acquisition or organic growth. We see that really growing in the next couple of years."
News of the burgeoning market for rental accommodation in Glasgow comes as sales of houses in Scotland have slumped by 40 per cent in recent months.
To capitalise on the growing market, Clyde has constructed a new headquarters which also functions as a lettings centre.
