The credit crunch has seen an increase in demand for one bedroom flats in Dundee, it has been revealed.
Current financial conditions are making it hard for many homeowners to sell their property, which has seen an increase in the number of residential lettings available.
However, this has also been accompanied by a growth in demand for rental property, according to a Dundee lettings agent.
Robert Murray, partner at Lickley Proctor Lettings, explained that landlords with one bedroom flats are doing particularly well.
He told the Evening Telegraph: "People who are struggling to sell their properties are coming to us to rent them out, and nervous buyers would rather rent to see what the story is."
He also suggested that demand is good for some houses too, "including three- or even four-bed family homes".
Prospective buy-to-let landlords received a boost recently with news that the government's latest amendment to the stamp duty exemption will also extend to residential lettings.
