Landlords and letting agents might be wise to ensure their properties are marketed towards couples looking to rent, an expert has suggested.
In news which could interest property experts considering letting agency software, a property sales executive told Residential Landlord (RL) that many couples are taking advantage of good rental deals on the market.
It comes after the Halifax house price index for October 2008 reported that the average UK home was worth £168,176, after dropping by almost £30,000 in value over the previous year.
Rob Deans, a sales executive from Nottingham, told RL that Britons would be "crazy" to purchase property now because of the unstable economic climate.
Would-be buyers are now looking to rent out good-quality homes or apartments as an alternative, he suggested.
"There are loads of great deals for couples looking to rent until the market stabilises," Mr Deans said.
Amid high levels of supply and demand for such accommodation, landlords might consider letting agency software to give them a competitive edge in the marketplace.
