Chester Lettings has been granted approval for plans for new student accommodation near Chester University, it has been announced.
The scheme was approved by the council after the lettings agent made amendments to the original plan.
Objections had been raised that there was insufficient parking space and that the plan would have an effect on local residents' quality of life.
Chester Lettings addressed these in the amended plan by adding more car parking spaces and including acoustic fencing and double glazing.
The plan will see a large, detached property in Liverpool Road converted from residential use to student accommodation with 19 bedrooms.
Local residents remain sceptical that the influx of students will not improve the ambience in the local area.
Emma Stringfellow, a resident of the Moss Bank area, told the Chester Chronicle: "The council should reflect on the down at heel and unkempt nature of the Garden Lane area and consider if they really want this to happen to Liverpool Road and Abbots Grove."
