Buy-to-let property investors, or landlords-to-be, are giving consumers in Scotland the chance to go and buy bricks and mortar of their own.
That is the view of Dianne Paterson, property partner at law firm Russel and Aitkin, who claims that people buying property for investment purposes north of the border can help free up the market for others to go and buy.
Explaining further, Ms Paterson said cash purchasers, parents for student children and a few first-time buyers are also "helping to free up sellers to allow them to move on and ... become property buyers themselves".
Last month, operations manager at the Association of Residential Letting Agents Ian Potter said that there are a number of "bargains" to be found in the current UK property market.
He suggested that buy-to-let "remains a viable long-term investment vehicle" for those with a keen eye for property.
